Rogers (2010) in his study about unlocking difficulties in news writing states that

all your work will be wasted if you write a boring article that no one will read thus he
created tips on how to write a news stories that will get your readers' attention and
never let go! (1) Write a Great Lead; (2) Write Tight; (3) Structure It Right; (4) Use The

Practice.

Chung et al. (2002) in their study about “The Effects of News Writing Difficulty
and Reader Effort on Processing Banner News” changed the amount of mental
resources allocated to the reading of news stories by altering either difficulty of news
content or effort of participants, and observed whether manipulations can influence the
performance of processing banner news.

Marco (2003) cited that the difficulty in news writing can be alleviate by focusing
the effectiveness of the message and the compliance with three basic rules: 1) The
existence of a large amount of information divided into small groups; 2) The
interconnectedness of these groups through links; 3) That at given moments in the
reading the user needs only a small amount of information to understand the content.

Jerz (2003) mentioned in his study that difficulty in writing news is encountered
due to the fact that there are very few people realize that writing news stories isn't
particularly difficult. It does take practice and not everyone will be an expert but if you
follow the guidelines below you should be able to create effective news items without
too much stress.
