CPAP and NIV Helmets

HAROL was the first Italian company (1990) to introduce helmets for Hyperbaric Therapy,
over time these Interfaces proved functional for ventilation support in CPAP and
subsequently with Pressure Support Ventilation (PSV).
HAROL presents a complete range of helmets that fully meets the needs of today's hospital:
1) Single patient, latex and DEHP free
2) Ease to use and management by the medical and nursing staff
3) Highly comfortable for patient
4) Available for CPAP and NIV

SINGLE PATIENT helmets for CPAP and NIV

After years of field experience HAROL has created the first helmet in two pieces born from informations,
recommendations and suggestions of users now also available with an access port to make it even more
functional and safe.
The interface helmet has consolidated in recent years its important clinical validity, but at the same time
functional and practical aspects were neglected.
Today limitations or difficulties in managing have been resolved with the new helmets Helm-HAR CPAP and
NIV:
l More comfortable placement and removal of the helmet (nasal trauma reduction and management during
therapy by one person only).
l Reduced necrosis of the neck or underarm due to traction straps or not the anatomical shape of the collar
(atraumatic padded straps covered with Meryl Skynlife, microfiber hypoallergenic and bacteriostatic) quick
release system for fastening and unfastening. New "Soft Collar".
l Reduced claustrophobic effects (tent completely clear)
l System for access to the patient's face (this system requires a single operator and less than three
seconds to have patients face free from the helmet for emergencies situation) now available with
additional access port with anti-suffocation valve.
l Possibility for the operator to choose whether to ventilate from the tent or from the neckseal (double
access)
l The helmet can be used in MRI

l 24 liters tent for increased patient safety and efficacy of the therapy
l Standard connection for PEEP valve, both fixed and adjustable
l Built-in anti suffocation valve
l With or without access port
l NGT access port from 3 to 12 mm
l Tent-neckseal quick release system
l New hypoallergenic and bacteriostatic padded shoulder straps
l Alternative Fastening systems (double soft-belt) and accessories for patient comfort (noise filters and
head pillows) on request

l Double connection mode, two tubes or with WYE-pieces breathing circuit

l CO2 or pressure monitoring port
l NGT access port from 3 to 12 mm

ACCESSORIES FOR NIV AND CPAP HELMETS
Alternative Fastening Systems and accessories for patient comfort:
l Special double padded shoulder straps covering both shoulder and underarm. atraumatic padded straps
covered with Meryl Skynlife, microfiber hypoallergenic and bacteriostatic. Meryl Skynlife is not a bactericide,
does not reduce the level of bacteria that is normally present on the skin, but due to its bacteriostatic agent
(silver ions) inhibits its growth, eliminating smells and maintaining an excellent level of biological comfort.
The straps are equipped with micrometric adjustment system for traction and quick release front and rear.
Can be used on all Harol helmets.
l Cylindrical pillows with a diameter of about 4.6 cm and length 30 cm made of special soft elastomeric foam
and environmentally friendly (no presence of PVC - HCFCs - CFC), covered by a double hospital TNT layers
totally biocompatible and hydrophobic (latex free).
l Noise reduction set for NIV and CPAP helmets composed of 3 bacteria/viral filters that in addition to reducing
the noise allow to filter the air intake by the venturi flow generator. The 3 filters can be positioned:
> Intake air connection
> Flow generator outlet
> Inlet connection of CPAP helmet
