Brief History Summary

The origins of Chinese Civilization can be dated back when the Homo erectus lived in
the area. The Neolithic Age (period of development of human technology) came and the
settlement and agriculture stated be evident and in the same period, the establishment
of the Yellow River Civilization took place leading to the establishment of culture.

Dynasties in China

o Early Civilization
Xia Dynasty Pottery and shells have emerged. Remain around 2100 BC
until 1600 BC
Shang Dynasty- Existed from 1600-1046 BC
Zhou Dynasty- Existed from 1046-256 BC. This emerged in the Yellow
River Valley.
Qin dynasty that existed from 221-206 BC. During this dynasty, the unification of
Han Chinese Homeland happened.
Han Dynasty- Existed from 202 BC- AD 220. Regarded as the Golden Age
because the foundation of China was structured.
Xin Dynasty- Began in AD 9 and was short-lived, but many economic reforms too
place.
Many other main dynasties took place after these such as Jin Dynasty, Northern
and Southern Dynasties, Sui Dynasty, Tang Dynasty, Five Dynasties and the
Ten Kingdoms, Yuan Dynasty and the Qing Dynasty.
The Qing Dynasty was the last Imperial dynasty because it was overthrown during the
Revolution of 1911 and this lead the formation of Republic of China.
