Responsibility-Centered Discipline.

Targeted behavior: Talking during Daily 5 rotations.

1. Support: I understand thats hard to stay on task during the rotations, especially when our friends are working closely.
2. Expectation: However, the classroom expectation is that during rotations we need to be on task and complete the work on the
Daily 5 menu.
3. Breakdown: During Word Work, I saw and heard you talking to Student A about things that were not related to the instruction.
4. Benefit: If we are talking to our friends during centers and not working, we distract our friends and ourselves from learning. I
know how much you are enjoying your literature circle novel. So, why dont you work on the assignment instead of talking,
and afterwards, you should have time to read.
5. Closure: The student complied and returned to work on his assignment. The situation was resolved.
