Maria Krista Fe M. Tong is a Senior Auditor in the auditing practice of SGV & Co. / Ernst &
Young Philippines. She joined the company in November 2019 after passing the CPA Board Exam
in October 2019. She graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at Father
Saturnino Urios University, Butuan City, Philippines.

She has gained almost ten (10) years of in-depth experience in the audit of companies in various
industries like manufacturing, service, retail, real estate, oil & gas, software and development.
Among her responsibilities were as follows:

Lead client audit engagements, which include planning executing, directing, and completing
financial audits.
Begin to develop generally accepted accounting principles and SEC accounting and reporting
rules, where applicable, and financial statement presentation.
Obtain a thorough understanding of the generally accepted auditing standards and common
audit procedures and techniques.
Supervise, train and mentor associates and interns on audit process.
Research and analyze financial statement and audit related issues.
Acquire a working knowledge of the clients business.
Proactively interact with key clients management to gather information, resolve problems, and
make recommendations for business and process improvements.
Perform other job related duties as necessary.

Relevant Skills and Experience:

Knowledge in the firms Global Audit Methodology (GAM) and GAMx, EY Canvas, E&Y
audit tool;
Almost ten (10) years audit experience in the statutory audit of local companies in diversified
industries;
International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) accredited since 2019 to present;
Conforms with the Firms policies and requirements through attending required trainings
which is market group activity;
Has comprehensive and updated knowledge of the theory, standards and principles of
accounting under IFRS and IFRS for Small and Medium-sized Entities;
