Zimbabwe has taken several measures to facilitate international trade, including introducing the Chirundu One Stop Border Post in 2009, which was the first in sub-Saharan Africa and helped reduce congestion in trading with Zambia. However, more infrastructure is still needed at Chirundu to support its increased activity levels. Zimbabwe also introduced the ASYCUDA World customs processing system to streamline operations, eliminate human errors, and allow organizations to easily register and submit customs data from their offices, improving clearance procedures and revenue collection.

There have been several measures that Zimbabwe has taken over the years to facilitate international trade and to a greater extent has yielded positive results. In 2009 the Chirundu One Stop Border Post (OSBP) was introduced so as to curb the congestions in trading with Zambia. It became the first OSBP to be introduced in Sub Saharan Region and with its efficiency and effectiveness it has helped in facilitating international trade. It is however noted by the researcher that theChirundu OSBP which initially started as a concept has by far exceeded the term concept as there is quite a lot of activity happening there and statistics could prove that clearance has increased. Therefore proper infrastructure should be built and parking lots modified. The introduction of the ASYCUDA World system with the objective of streamlining the operation of customs entry processing while eliminating the need of human interventions during operations has also been efficient in clearance procedures and revenue collection as it captures all the data and most organisations can easily register and link to the system in the comfort of their offices ZIMRA website (2017).
