Discussion

for this experiment we need To obtain the relationship between applied load and the tensile
force in the suspension cable. We need to handle 2 experiment first is a point load at centre
and the other one is a moving point load. Then calculate For both experiment ,we must plot a
graph tension vs load at support 1 and support 2. There are percentage error occur when
handling this experiment.it may be causes from our measurement for span. Then the wrong
calculation for tensile for each load and a mistake while taking a reading from the measuring
load digital for each support .Next , for the moving point load we need to plot graph tension
vs distance . Then , for support 1 and 2 the graph tension vs load , the theoretical and
experimental tensile is increasing due to load. This is because when the load is added
automatically it will pull the cable wire so the tensile of the cable will increase uniformly
with load. Next, for a moving point load graph support 1 in increasing due to the distance but
support 2 is drop and both support 1 and 2 intersect. This is because support 1is from right
and support 2 is from left.

The precaution while handling this experiment is we must measure the length of span
meticulous and make sure the ruler is put horizontally at support 1 and 2. Then, make sure
calculate the unit converter from mm to meter for length correctly. Moreover, make sure the
weight of load is same and uniform.
