To Whom It May Concern:

The Education Undergraduate Society arranges and provides Professional Development

workshops for education students at the University of Lethbridge. This letter is written at the
request of Kasey Howard who attended the following seminars during the months of
January-March 2017.

ATA: PRISM: Professionals Respecting Individualized Sexual Minorities

This workshop supports school leaders and teachers to understand the issues of gender and sexual
minority individuals, develop strategies to build an inclusive school community (elementary and
secondary) and establish and support the operation of a gay-straight alliance upon student request.

ATA: Here Comes Everybody: Welcome to a Multicultural Classroom

As we enter the second decade of the 21st century, our school communities continue to reflect the
increasing diversity of our society in terms of culture, ethnicity, language, race, colour sexual orientation,
gender identity, religion and other characteristics. This session was designed to assist teachers in adapting
their practice to these school communities.

Danny Balderson: Teaching Effective Physical Education

Love PE? Hate PE? Ever wondered what it would be like to teach PE? This session will provide students
the necessary supports to feel comfortable in teaching PE.

Aaron Stout: Highschool Redesign

A move towards preparing students to be active, engaged and successful participants in an increasingly
knowledge-based and globalized society is a step many Alberta High schools are taking. Join Aaron in
discussing what Highschool Redesign stands for, and how it hopes to revolutionize our teaching practices.
