Disaster in Pakistan
The worst floods in Pakistan history have led to unprecedented death and destruction with
more rain predicted during this monsoon season. The United Nations has called this a global
disaster and has asked for a global response. On August 19, the US State Department
established the Pakistan Relief Fund so that “all Americans [can] join in this tremendous
relief, recovery and reconstruction effort”. Clean drinking water, sanitation and health
supplies are a priority. Donations can be made to the Red Cross, UNICEF or the Pakistan
Relief Fund. Contact information can be found below. Our thoughts and prayers are with
our neighbors who may be directly or indirectly affected.
