But these are not the only locations for art in our world, Public parks, college campuses, libraries, and other public spaces, for example, often display sculpture and other kinds of art. In this module, we explore two of the most common contemporary locations for art in our world: our streets and our bodies. We think of Street Art and Body Art (Tattooing, Painting, Piercing, Modification) as distinctly modern forms of art, but in fact they both have long histories. We learn about these histories, and then explore examples of Street Art and Body Art from our own lives. WHAT WILL WE LEARN? Our objectives in this module are to explore contemporary examples of Street Art and Body Art, and to learn how they continue long-standing human cultural practices.
