THE LAST CHAPTER OF THE

NECRONOMICON--AGAIN?
by ALLEN MACKEY

In the annals of Alhazredic Demonology and Elder Lore, the idea of a

"last chapter" of the Necronomicon is a familiar one. First used by D.
R. Smith in 1950 ("Why Abdul ALhazred Went Mad") and also, we
learn from Edward Paul Berglund's online Reader's Guide to the
Cthulhu Mythos, intended for a short PF story (listed as "in
production") by Crispin Burnham called "Pits of Yuggoth" (which had
to do with something called "Mythril"). The complete entry:

"Pits of Yuggoth" * (Mythril) (supposedly the never completed last

chapter of the Necronomicon) by Crispin Burnham

Has anyone seen "Pits of Yuggoth"? If so, please, send the editor a
copy!

Also, isn't there a reference in the Chaosium RPG work of a "last

chapter" or something similar from the Necronomicon?

Are there any poems or other PF versions of the Necronomicon that

profess to the last chapter?
