This is my second time to Hatyai, but it was a first for Jean. The event was Hatyai bike week
but other than that, most of the trip were about our friends, Jean and I enjoying ourselves. ● • 2007 (92)

I will start with the event first before going into the trip from the beginning.

Happily waiting for the rest so we could go massage.

It was Jean's first time in a "tuk tuk" with me even when it was our 2nd time in Thailand

Freddy and his gang in another "tuk tuk", they were saying, see we're faster, "Suck this"
haha, just joking....

Ti§h's Busa

We were so hungry we bought fried chicks to eat!! Wow Thai's chick r more muscular!! haha

We had some relaxing massage and once rejuvnated, we decided to head for Sizzler to fill
out groaning stomach. I remembered the first time Jean and I went to Bangkok, we also had
Sizzler, it was a resturant that server good yummy food!

http://tish-hayabusa.blogspot.com/ (10 of 67)02/08/2008 16:05:03

Ti§h's Busa

Look at the smiles on our faces and u know how yummy the food taste!
Jean was crazy over the salad Bar!

Ti§h's Busa

I have no idea why, he say the food was nice but his face was saying otherwise!

Ti§h's Busa

My this dear couple was also rather confusing, they said the food was nice,
but the faces were showing otherwise???

Now the ladies love the salad bar..... but what the hell are the doing with 2 carrots?

Ti§h's Busa

Ohh... it was for the MOUTH!

After the fullfilling meal, Raymond took us for some sight seeing at the top of the building.
Hatyai from bird's eye view was like the old Singapore, alot of flat building and some high
rise buildings.

http://tish-hayabusa.blogspot.com/ (14 of 67)02/08/2008 16:05:03

Ti§h's Busa

Say cheese!!

Before going back to the hotel for a rest, I decided we should go visit the bird nest stall as I
would really like Jean to try it out! She love it of coz, who dont like good tonic. It was
cheaper compared to SG too. So guess what?? We bought 3 bottles of "Xue Yan"

The different types of bird nest in bottled form.

http://tish-hayabusa.blogspot.com/ (15 of 67)02/08/2008 16:05:03
Ti§h's Busa

Dont think it taste weird, it was good too!

She really love it!

After all the tonic, we headed back to the hotel for a short rest, gathered at the bikes and
left for the bike event. Upon arriving at the event area, we were directed to designated
parking lots. The foreign bikes were really treated like VIPS compared to their local bikes.
The moment our busas and some other bikes parked, people started taking photos.

Freddy went to collect the event goodies and distribute to everyone. There is a T- shirt, a 2
day pass with 1 free jug of bear and 2 event stickers, the rest of the package is to enjoy the
event which most of the time were people singing on the stage, more like a public KTV
session.

After getting sick of the singings, Raymond, Kris, Andrew, Jean and I decided to visit the
night market "Tao Rai". It was the night market that I came from the last trip where I did
Jean's shopping for her. This time, she shall do the shopping herself.

Hatyai Bike week 2008 Part 2of 2

The very next morning 5th of July 2008, w got a call from Raymond asking to have breakfast
http://tish-hayabusa.blogspot.com/ (22 of 67)02/08/2008 16:05:03
Ti§h's Busa

together, we were going back to the usual porridge stall and I tot Jean would like it since she
love eating porridge.

Some snaps in the morning while waitng for Weis

Hmm, this is a nicer view.... hehe

http://tish-hayabusa.blogspot.com/ (23 of 67)02/08/2008 16:05:03

Ti§h's Busa

Looking good here too.... ohh ohh, I saw an 08 busa's ass....

Well, arriving at tyhe porridge stall, we had mix pig porridge and some half boiled eggs, the
half boiled egg standard in Hatyai is surprisingly good, its always the same standard which
ever coffee shop I went to, unlike Singapore, either they are too cooked or too raw......
sigh....

http://tish-hayabusa.blogspot.com/ (24 of 67)02/08/2008 16:05:03

Ti§h's Busa

Fresh porridge in the morning.... thats y we are looking fresh!

http://tish-hayabusa.blogspot.com/ (25 of 67)02/08/2008 16:05:03

Ti§h's Busa

She is trying to smile with eggs in her mouth i guess??

After having the wonderful breakfast, we took a slow walk back to pur hotel, on the way, we
stopped by 7-11 and bought yakut!! Not those regular small bottles u see in Singapore, this
one is chao chao 5-8 times bigger!!

Her favorite! She was going to finish it all until I snatched it back!

Well, after breakfast must go back hotel bomb the bowl...... And then we gathered again to
have a second round of massage at Oliva's again!! Boy! how I'd wish they had Oliva at every
petrol station along the way we come from Singapore. HAHA

http://tish-hayabusa.blogspot.com/ (26 of 67)02/08/2008 16:05:03

Ti§h's Busa

The only girls in this tuk tuk!

The super refreshing look after the WONDEFUL Massage!!

ohh did i mention someone farted? Not us... so u guess!

http://tish-hayabusa.blogspot.com/ (27 of 67)02/08/2008 16:05:03

Ti§h's Busa

Well, we decided to head over to the market place coz Raymond brought his worn NIKE shoes
from singapore to mend in Hatyai. I must say, the result was surprising good as we sit thru
the while process, it was dirt CHEAP too!!

One of the other reason is to get our bike licence number in thai. Since we're in thai, we
should let the locals know our licence plate number in their own language hehe....

The bad news is, 2 times I came to hatyai and this stupid shop didnt open!! The good news is,
Freddy went to another place and did it for us!

I swear it was the pig trotter that lure us in for a second round!

http://tish-hayabusa.blogspot.com/ (28 of 67)02/08/2008 16:05:03

Ti§h's Busa

I swear I saw the chicken moving and to prove it, we sit in the kopi tiam to moniter it!

http://tish-hayabusa.blogspot.com/ (29 of 67)02/08/2008 16:05:03

Ti§h's Busa

She had noodles, but they keep giving her the wrong type!

http://tish-hayabusa.blogspot.com/ (30 of 67)02/08/2008 16:05:03

Ti§h's Busa

I was enjoying the pig trotter, super soft and delicious!

I swear I was just testing if the special Flat Fried banana was crispy!

U cannot believe how long we waited for Raymond's shoe to be mended and how long the

Ti§h's Busa

guys had their amulet rewraped and redo! Probably 2 hours...... We got so bored and were
feeling very down, its bad for health!!

So the moment we were ready to leave, we decided to get some healthy food!

The bird nest shop again, this time, we had Shark's Fin.....
Ohhh Big n yummy!!! That is a whole piece in Jean's bowl!!

After makan, we walked around taking it as exercise, the girls un-noticely walked into shops
that sell women's clothings..... Someone bought something!

http://tish-hayabusa.blogspot.com/ (32 of 67)02/08/2008 16:05:03

Ti§h's Busa

Some mannequin......

While the ladies were busy glancing at clothings. Raymond got bored....

Well, time to go back hotel for a rest again.

http://tish-hayabusa.blogspot.com/ (33 of 67)02/08/2008 16:05:03
Ti§h's Busa

We gathered again to travel to the bike event for the second time. I wasn't so keen on the
event and it was really nothing much, so I decided I wont be staying long there....

Some Custom bike....... blocking out bikes...

We arrived earlier than the day before, the photos turned out nicer with more lightnings.....
This time, upon arriving, we were directed close to the main stage.... off road.

Ti§h's Busa

If she buys it, she will be riding me!

Well after viewing all the stalls and bikes, we got hungry and its time to queue for the free
food.
The food taste rather weird, was it the way the thais cook it or was the cooking really bad?

There were Tom Yam sea food soup, Fried rice, BBQ fish, Egg omelette, Weird chick soup,
and some thai salad. The most eddiable was the egg omelette...... and peanuts that were
meant to go along with the drinks......

EGGS!!

Like I was saying, there wasn't much of anythink at the event, I decided to leave after we
had our meals..... This time, only Andrew, Jean and I went. We road our bikes back to hotel
and took a tuk tuk to "Tao Rai". Andrew didnt want to follow........
His precious bike need some touching....

Ti§h's Busa

She was choosing the shoes and decided not to buy any after looking at the quality...

This is one stall I bought alot of Mickey accessories for her the last time,
and she did bought more this time!

http://tish-hayabusa.blogspot.com/ (44 of 67)02/08/2008 16:05:03

Ti§h's Busa

Ti§h's Busa

I wont talk about the trip back home as there wasn't anything unusal, except that ah hock
was not feeling well and bunny accompanied him thru out the journey. Ohh my arse was
getting stiffer as we travelled and Jean was getting aches from the long ride.....

First petrol station after we left Thai border,

we had to fill our tanks full for the ride!

All in all, the ride was fun but the long ride wasn't comfortable. Well u gain something u
loose some....

Thats all folks....

Water pump seal worn

Motor Factor @ Ubi
Pump Seals $40 (3)
Oil Filter $16
Labour $70
Royal Purple X3
Water Wetter
Mileage : 116,972 km

These happend a few weeks ago and I only got it done last week.
Since the last servicing on the oil pan, I never tot I would see EO leaking at the bottom so
soon. I spent the past 2 weeks trying to figure out where the leak came from. I was glad the
leak didnt came from the same place as the last time.

Alex removed my left faring and cleaned the bottom before asking me to ride around without
my fairing on so we could monitor the leak more conveniently. I road about 5 km, spotted a
minor leak somewhere and went back to Alex, both of us didnt find the source of the leak
and I had to get back to work.

The very next day I went to Bike123 to check, Kenny said he was very sure its from the Water
Pump and he point to me beads of EO appearing from it. I was kinda shock when I saw it. To
make sure, we cleaned it and rode with 1 side less fairing, when I returned, the EO leak
appeared from directly below the water pump, problem rectified.

The very next day, went back to Factor to replace the pump seals since it was super near my
work place, I could get my colleague to sent me out to collect my bike too.....
2 days later, I check for leaks again, dry as "hungry hippo"

1 less thing to worry before my Hatyai bike week.......................

Will be getting the pics up on the seals....

FD ROD
Seeing 2 people using this magic rod and without a proper name, I named it after the creater/
maker. FD Rod. I wont mention his name coz he looks as if he want to be low profile. But
most should have guessed who he is.

This magic FD rod replaces a jack, could lift the rear wheel in 2-3 simple steps. It could be
use for lubbing the chain and servicing puncture. Its useful in everyway u could think of and
it could be placed under the seat.

Finding this rod extreme useful, I decide to do a MO for this, so if anyone wants it, could
contact me via SBF.

Hatyai Bike week postponed.

Hatyai bike week had postponed from june to july 4th-5th.
Jean was disappointed at first but she was ok after that. I only tot my leave was a little
waste but at least I could stay back to attend classes and take my test.

My babe is getting naughty again, she started leaking some EO but this time is not around the
bottom. I'm monitoring it coz I guess a 5 yr bike should be having some harden seal here n
there.
Wont be doing anything to my bike for the time being coz of studies, renovation and
preparations for my wedding is draining me off here n there.

Now I only awaits the second trip to Hatyai, but this time with Jean being her first.

Thats all folks.....

Badly worn gloves.

Since the last time I posted on these glove Jean had bought for me. LINK

It slowly worn further thru the months, and now, its in no condition to protect my hands any
more. I really love the glove, been wearing it all the time whenever I rode my bike, even if
its just for short trips, I'll have them on. Coz my wife bought them just so that it could
protect me.

The last time I posted these pics were in Aug last year, they were already worn then.

Since the last time I washed them, it became so brittle that I dare not wash anymore fearing
the material will give way anytime. But this afternoon, they just wont hold anymore they
expose themselves, stretched and let themselves loose.......

Tiny holes here and there.

RIP Hui Ting!

I was browsing a friend's blog and was so shocked to learn that she has passed away while
riding, I called Desmond to confirm as it was so hard to believe.

2 way Switch for a 3 way fan system.

I'm at Mac again, accompanying Jean while she study for her Exam.

As usual, making use of the free internet. With nothing to do, I started thinking what if I
were to add a switch to the Dual fan system, how would I wanted it to work.

I drew here and drew there and came out with a way that I would most likely want it to
function.
Using a 2 way switch for a 3 way function.

Swtich 1 will turn on Both fan.

Switch 0 will activate only the stock fan when the Temp. sensor trigger.
Switch 2 will activate both fan when the Temp. sensor trigger.

If there were a switch 3, most likely its to activate the 2nd fan alone manually.
The method would be : 2nd fan will have its return point connected to a common ground and
a direct current from battery. But more than 1 connection point is needed to use this
function along with the other function.

Wiring up the fan. Why the 2nd fan keep running.

I want to fix up the second fan myself but the header/extractor is blocking my clearance to
mount up the fan. Since I was going to get Kenny to replace my oil pan. Might as well get him
to fix up the fan.

This is a pic of a suzuki 1000 k3/4 fan as 2nd fan,

taken from hayabusa.org.
The bottom left is sharing the same point with the stock fan,
The bottom right needs a bracket coz its too short,
The top is sharing with the radiator mounting point.
In general, get the wire mesh facing down.

My purpose was to have the 2nd fan dependent on the stock fan to turn on. Which means
when the stock fan turns on, it will trigger the relay for 2nd fan to turn on. Kenny seems to
have a problem, he told me that the stock fan has a constant 12volt supplying and he did not
understand why.
Following my method will keep the 2nd fan running all the time. After half a day of attempt,

he gave up and add a switch point so I could turn it off whenever I wanted to.

Circuit diagram of the fan.

Kept going over and over but nothing seems wrong.

After 1 week of monitoring my house renovation. I've finally had the time today to reroute
the fan's wire. I tried my method, 2nd fan's relay dependent on the first fan's current, 2nd
fan current directly from battery. However, the 2nd fan still run immediately when the relay
was connected to the first fan. I can't believe that my method was wrong but I finally gave up
and ask some guys for advise.

In the end the answer was, The positive wire for the stock fan was a constant supply however
why it did not run was because the grounding wire was not "close". No ground = no return
path = OFF mode. Why the 2nd fan was turned on was because the return path was
connected to a common ground, that grounding path was "close" all the time!!

After thinking the whole thing for a while, nothing would have gone wrong if I didn't add a
relay. Without the relay, I would have tap the current and grounddirectly from the stock fan.

Messy wires for the fan.

I had a 10A fuse there directly from the battery to the 2nd fan.

Tested for overheat, when both fan first trigger, heat was brought down in 10 seconds when
fans stops, 2nd time, 16 seconds.
