FUNGAL INFECTIONS

FUNGI
a.) Yeasts
round or oval shaped microscopically
grow as flat round colonies
reproduce by forming buds from their cells

b.) Moulds
appears as collection of mass (mycelium) of individual tubular structures (hyphae)
appear as fuzzy growth (eg. Penicillium) on stale bread or Saborauds agar.

Fungal spore
Spread via air (inhalation), water and direct contact w/ infected source (inoculation into traumatized skin).
