INTRODUCTION

The invention of email changed the way everyone communicates. It is


one of the quickest ways to communicate across the world or just in
the cubicle next to you. It allows you to send rapid communication to
anyone with an email.

This training document will teach you how to download, install and use
Thunderbird, a free emailing software. Anyone and everyone will be
able to down load and use this freeware. Thunderbird was developed
and put in Place by Mozilla, the same people who developed FireFox.

DOWNLOADING THUNDERBIRD

In the information to follow is a guide for how to properly download


Thunderbird freeware.

You will need to open your browser and type in


https://www.mozilla.org/thunderbird

After the browser comes through you will be prompted to hit the
DOWNLOAD button.

Once you hit the download button, it will automatically download and
install.

Once it has installed you will be prompted with this screen.

You will hit the Thunderbird thumbnail and it will automatically open
the freeware.

Utilizing THUNDERBIRD

Once the application automatically opens, you will be prompted to


select whether you would like to set THUNDERBIRD as your default

email.

Once you have selected what you would like to do, it will prompt you
how to create a new email if you are needing one. THUNDERBIRD
allows you to use a previously used email to help keep everything the
same for you.

That completes the set up for THUNDERBIRD, I will now walk you
through how to do basic functions within THUNDERBIRD.

To create new message you will simply hit message at the top of your
screen.

Then once you hit message it will have a drop down box to select new
message.

You will hit new message and then it will pop open with a new email.

From this screen you will be able to add a email and a message and
start communicating to whoever you want.

HOW TO CLOSE THUNDERBIRD

To close thunderbird you will simply just hit the red but to exit
thunderbird. Most of the time Thunderbird is running behind the
scenes to constantly get email and calendar updates.

If you are needing help with Thunderbird then you will simply go to the
download link and scroll all the way to the bottom and it will help you
trouble shoot common problems that the THUNDERBIRD community
has experienced before.
