® A COMPEX PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT SAFETY NOTICE 1, Personal Protective Equipment: Steel protected toecap boots or safety shoes must be worn. 2. Overalls are optional but be warned of the sharp edges of cable trays, mounting plates, cable armouring and tools. 3. Eye protection to be worn at all times. 4, Safe working procedures will be strictly followed; a work permit ‘must be completed before commencement of any work. 5. Individual lockout devices must be used to isolate Bays Ex01 and x02 practical bays. 6. No one, but the person who has isolated and signed the Permit- ‘to-Work to re-energise the installation. 7. Tools: Stanley knives are not allowed to be used. Electrician's knives when not in use must be stored in the tool boxes. No walking about with exposed blades. 8. On completion of the installation, insulation and continuity checks to be completed in accordance with IEC 60364 9. Electrical testing to be completed with the supplied IR approved tester, the assessor/instructor to be present during the testing. 410. Allearths are to be tested. 11. Allamps should be the correct rating and work. 32. All cables are to be correctly marked 13. Be aware of cable selection 414. The making of the glands is critical, the glands will he inspected to ensure the connection, locking rng etc is correct and sound, 415. Barrier glancs, “Playdo” putty will be used. If no putty is used this is deemed as a failure. (Any gland failure usually means the practical aspect of the course is failed.) 16. Supplementary cross- bonds are required as indicated on the drawings. 17. Locking nuts must be used on cable glands for internal earth continuity. 18.
