Reflection 1

October 10, 2017

It was my first day at Al Asimah School and I met my lovely MST. Also, it's my first
time to be in boys' school. Her name is Wendy and she teaches two classes ( 1 C and
1 D ). She told me that she is a new teacher in UAE, she has been a year ago. She told
me some crucial information about the students in both classes about who is the
emerging and who the master students are. I believe that is so useful
for me because I will teach 7 lessons and I have to know who is the
emerging and the developing and the master students in
both classes. I really like that she has stick classroom
rules such as lose or mains house points if the student
doesn't listen to her or dont answer her question. Today
was fully math lessons and I enjoyed observing Ms.
Wendy and the students. They are so engaged with her
and she tried to control who was misbehaving during the lesson by losing
his points. I noticed that she introduced the math lesson by
demonstrating several videos about counting by 2s, 5s and
10s. They were encouraged to repeat after the songs about
counting. After that, she told them simple instructions to
go to take their math books then go to the board and see where their
names in which group they are. Next, they sat in their groups and
focused on her to open the specific page they will open to answer the
questions about the lesson. At the break time I discussed with her
about my 7 lessons and my 4 tasks in the booklet.
