Sleeping in class Consequences for any of
Talking without raising hand these offenses may include
Getting out of seat without verbal reprimand, loss of
YELLOW permission recess or lunch time, or
ZONE Eating in class cleaning up the class. If
Bringing toys to class there is a reward system in
place such a tokens or
beads for good behavior,
take away one of these
tokens.
Talking back Consequences for any of
Disrupting others/ Abusive these offenses may include
ORANGE conduct being sent to the hallway
ZONE Truancy for a time out, detention,
Using a cell phone loss of recess or lunch, or
possibly a trip to the
principals office.
Inappropriate familiarity Consequences for any of
Unauthorized leaving class these offenses may include
RED Theft a meeting with the
ZONE Noncompliance principal, phone call/letter
Cheating/ plagiarizing/ lying home to parents, possible
Defacing property meeting with parents and
teacher.
Throwing objects
Possession of weapon Consequences for any of
Using racial obscenities these offenses may include
Using profanity/ vulgar language/ meeting with parents,
BLACK obscene gestures principal and /or vice
ZONE Fighting with another student principal and the teacher,
Teacher assault/ verbal abuse suspension, or possibly
Harming classroom pets being expelled.

I think all disciplinary action should be case by case, and discipline should vary by age group.

There will be different situations and circumstances which needs to be taken into consideration.

The child should also be considered; if this is a repetitive offense, fuller action should be taken

but if this is the first offense by a normally good child, possibly a lighter punishment may be in
order, depending on the severity of the behavior. I do not think a black and white approach to

teaching and children in general is realistic, we should evaluate each action on different levels to

determine the consequences.
