Sinamar Formation occurs in nortwestern tip of South Sumatra Basin

Litology consists of shale, Claystone, siltstone and thin intercalation of sandstone and coals
deposited in a fluvial deltaic environment
the primary data about the core sample were supplied by a coal mining company of the PT.
Kuansing Inti Makmur ( KIM ).
The primary data used were gained from the outcrop, core, and rock sample.
The analyzed shale sample shows a composition of organic matter consists of 14.4% vitrinite
maceral of all vitrodetrinite types and mineral matter of 83.6% clays and 2% pyrite.
Based on anoxic condition, the distinction result between sample 08 MH 13 and 08 MH 12R
indicate a change of facies sediment from lacustrine into terrestrial environments. This
condition occurs due to the process of regression.
the main natural character of the Sinamar Formation was a result of the deposition in a fresh
water lacustrine environment
B. The topic is very interesting that shows the importance about paleoenvironment study for
erxploration.
C. My friends are good enough to deliver the presentation because the teamwork focuses.
D. The design is colorful and make it easier and more intererest to be listened.
E. a. Its important because from this we can assume the mechanism of ther serdiment
transportation and speculate about the last place that the sediments will be deposited
b. Its enrich our knowledge about sedimentology and make me more delighted to be an
assistant of sedimentology laboratory.
