Flow Rate vs Head Loss in Valves

This document contains two figures comparing the flow rate and head loss of two types of valves - a gate valve and a globe valve - at different opening positions. Figure 9 B.1 shows that a gate valve maintains a high flow rate even when only partially open, but has higher head losses. Figure 9 B.2 shows that a globe valve has lower head losses than a gate valve, but its flow rate decreases more significantly when only partially open.
