Paranormal Movie:
Late Evening. At Skylas house.
Two girls Vanessa and Skylar are having a sleepover at
Skylars house. The camera pans to the two girls, Skylar and
Vanessa are sitting on the floor in Skylars living room with
blankets on themselves and playing board games.
VANESSA
Its your turn.
Skylar takes her turn and roles the dice.
SKYLAR
This game is so boring; do you
want to do something
different?
VANESSA
Yeah sure, what did you have
in mind?
There is a slight pause.
SKYLAR
Well we could tell ghost
stories, she says with a
sinister look on her face.
VANESSA
I cant think of any ghost
stories to tell though.
SKYLAR
Thats alright; Ive got a
good one. Ive heard in this
exact house there was a girl,
about our age that died here,
they said that she died in her
own bloody tears.
 VANESSA
I dont like that at all, I
wish you hadnt of told me
that, now I would defiantly not
be able to go to sleep.
SKYLAR
Its not actually real so its
fine, Im going to make us some
hot chocolates.
VANESSA
Dont leave me for too long.
Skylar leaves the room to go into the Kitchen. There is a
slight pause, followed by a footstep noise.
VANESSA
Skylar was that you?
A white figure stands in the corner of the room. Vanessa does
not see the girl; there is a noise of a book falling. Vanessa
turns her head but does not see anything. She is a bit freaked
out and heads for the door because she is scared of being left
alone after what she just heard. The girl stands behind
Vanessa; Vanessa turns around and sees the girl with blood
coming out of her eyes.
DEAD GIRL
Help me.
VANESSA
Youre not real, youre not
real. She says as she is
covering the majority of her
face.
DEAD GIRL
Help me.
Blood starts dripping out of Vanessas eyes. She collapses to
the floor and dies. The dead girl walks away.

Because the location is outside in the To solve this problem I am going to film at

Lighting Information:
The lighting of some of some science
classrooms in college have quite
florescent white lighting, which is good
because I want the science room to look
like a lab with medicine. Although a lab
like place is perfect for a zombie horror
film as most zombie horrors have a scene
set in a place like this. But I dont want
the lighting to be too light in my shots as I
want to make my productions as scary
as I can, I want the clinical lighting but I
also want to make it look darker.
Sound Information:
The only time it would become quite
noisy is when students are going and
coming out their classes this would be an
issue when filming. In addition, I would
need to ask for permission to use the
science room when there is not a class in
there.

Solutions:
I think I can alter my footage to get the
vision I want for my zombie film, for
example after filming I could edit on a
filter onto all of my footage to make it
look darker and more abnormal. I could
also film when it starts getting darker as
well, so I would not have much natural
lighting in my shots as well.
Solutions:
I think to overcome this I think it would be
best to film after 4 when mostly all the
students have left college to make it look
like the place is abandoned as this is the
perfect setting for a zombie horror and
this would be good to make the sound
quiet and eerie.
Power Information:
There are power sockets in the science
rooms that would be quite helpful but
not to me, as I would not need any
power sockets for my equipment. I would
of course need to have a fully charged
camera so that my camera would not
run out of charge while filming as that
would ruin my time schedule.
Hazards:
There are some potential hazards of
filming in a science room/lab. Such as
you would be around chemicals and
someone could accidentally knock over
some chemicals and the break glass and
potentially hurt or injury themselves.
Someone could also trip over their bag
or other objects that are in the
pathways.
Solutions:
I would need to make sure my camera is
fully charged before filming and leave
myself time before filming to charge it.
Solutions:
We can avoid these problems while
filming by being careful with the science
equipment; also, we could put our bags
and possessions under a table or
somewhere out of the pathways. If
something does break in the science
classroom then we would inform a
science teacher about the problem.

Lighting Information:
I am filming at my house when it is dark
outside so that means I wouldnt be
using natural lighting. The other lighting I
can use is the main light in my room or
the other rooms in my house, but Im
afraid these lights would be too bright
and would give off the horror genre
effect.
Sound Information:
It is normally quite quiet in my house
besides my three dogs could start
barking during a take. This would be bad
as it would ruin the tension for one of my
productions.

I can overcome this issue with the lighting
as I have a few lamps in my house and I
can use these instead of using the main
lighting in the rooms, the lamps would
give off light but not too much to be too
bright. This is perfect as this would make
the lighting in my footage to look more
dim and scary.

I could have my dogs stay outside for a
little bit whilst I am filming an important
scene.

Hazards:
There is quite a lot of furniture in my
house so this might make someone
bump into things and hurt themselves.
Because I have two small dogs someone
could also trip over them as we are
going to make my house fairly dark so it
fits with the horror genre.

We could avoid this by only making the
lighting darker just before taking a scene
and then turn the main lights of my
house on when finished with a scene
and do that between each scene.
Contingency Plan
What are your plans for if something goes wrong? What back up actors,
locations and equipment do you have?
When filming any production, even if you have planned everything to a high standard
things can still not go to plan. Planning such as actors, locations and equipment can
become a liability when it comes down to filming. Having a backup plan for actors,
locations and equipment is to secure a well scheduled production that if your production
goes wrong then you have a plan B, and this saves time. For my contingency plan I am
going to come up with a second location for each of my productions, an actor and
equipment. For my backup location for the zombie movie I am going to use my house as
I know that I dont have to get permission for this location. It is very good to make sure I
have a backup location for the science classroom as I am not 100% sure that I can use
the classroom to film in as I have yet to get permission from a science teacher. If I cant
use this location to film my zombie movie in then I have my house. My house is perfect
for the story line of the zombie movie as my story line is a girl that is getting medicine
from a lab for her community during the zombie apocalypse but if I cant use the science
lab then I can alter the story line to the girl going to an abandoned house to get food for
her community.
For the location of the vampire movie I am going to the photography darkroom, if I can
no longer use this room to film in then I have to have a backup location. My backup
location for the photography darkroom is going to be the woods at college or some
woods near my house; I have chosen to use the woods as a backup location as you dont
need permission to film at the woods unless it is private ground. I know that the woods
that I have chosen are not private. The vampire movie storyline would have to change
quite a lot as I dont know any other locations that have a darkroom. I have picked the
woods to replace the darkroom location at college if I cant use it, this is because the
woods is an isolated place that has been used in many horror film, it also gets darker
before other places because of all the trees this is perfect to create a scary atmosphere.
For my paranormal movie location I dont need a backup location as Im using my house
and I know I would be able to film in this location without anything going wrong like
clearances.
When in the filming process the actors are kind of the most important thing because
without the actors you cant film the production. For all three of my productions Ive got
two actresses. Aimee and Lottie have agreed to be in all of my productions which are
good but there are things that could go wrong that could lead the actresses to no longer
be able to act in my films such as one of them could be ill. But both of my actors are very
reliable but if anything does go wrong I am going to act in place if one of them, this is
because I dont know anyone else that could take one of their places because everyone
else in my class is also working on their productions and I dont know their filming
schedules. I thought it would be best for me to step in and act in my own
production as I can rely on myself to act how I envisioned my characters to be.
For the equipment I am planning to use in my three productions is a camera, because I
am using the same camera for all three of my productions it would probably run out of
charge a lot of the times. If anything happens to my main camera I am going to use that
means I cant no longer use. I have a backup camera that I can use if anything does
happen.
