Whom It May Concern,

I have a very strong interest in pursuing a teaching career. With experience

working at both the elementary and high school levels, as well as in activities
outside of the traditional classroom, I have a diverse background with much to
offer.

My first classroom teaching experience was during high school. I was a volunteer
cadet teacher at my local Jr. High School for one semester. In addition, Ive held
many leadership roles in the high school setting. Including, Yearbook Editor in
Chief, President of the Prom Decorating Committee, Student Council Member,
Secretary of DECA, and softball team captain. Even though I was still a student
myself, these experiences have taught me many things about organizing and
managing young adults.

I have also had the privilege of tutoring Jr. High School students while pursuing
my teaching degree in college. During this time I was able to learn how students
learn and study on a one on one basis as well as in group settings. I was also able
to help students improve their understanding of specific topics and therefore
improve their grades. Witnessing this growth firsthand was very rewarding.

My passion for teaching drives my work ethic as well as my creativity in

developing lesson plans. I strongly believe in cultivating a classroom that
encourages hands on interaction, intelligent discussion, and creative expression.
Classrooms should be safe and creative spaces for students to feel free to learn and
express themselves.

My resume is enclosed. I will forward an official copy of my transcript along with

references under separate cover. I will contact you next week to discuss
employment opportunities; in the meantime, please feel free to contact me at
(781)-555-0123 or aloden@teachersmail.com. I look forward to speaking with
you.

Thank you for your consideration.

Respectfully yours,

Abagail Oden
