Semester abroad- Studied Environmental Studies

At CSUMB I collaborated through a research methods class with Professor Victoria Derr on two
projects. One was with a member of the Elkhorn Slough Foundation, Katie Pofhal. The class was
helping The Elkhorn Slough Foundation to collect survey data from a North County High
School. This included analyzing data through excel and writing a report with findings to better
Elkhorns sloughs program for the students at this school. The second project was about
California State University Monterey Bay (CSUMB) taking on the Living Community Challenge
(LCC) and as stakeholders in the future of this campus, the ESTU 350 class contributed to the
background documents to help facilitate the campus charrette to consider Biophilic design in the
context of the school.
