Major Concepts

Understand and be able to identify abstract art

Become familiar with the elements of art

Understand what concentric circles are and use that knowledge to

create their own works of art

Art Production Experiences
Use crayons and watercolor paint to create their own concentric
circle masterpieces
Have students share their art with a peer and whole class reflection
Create classroom collage of all students completed concentric circle
projects
Create abstract art using only lines (Fill entire paper, use a variety of
colors)
Color is the keyboard, the eyes are the
harmonies, the soul is the piano with many
strings. The artist is the hand that plays touching
one key or another to cause vibrations in the
soul.
