Summary

The reconciliation with Byzantium at the end of the 13th century marks
the turning point in the Milutins policy of conquest. The pillar of the Milutins
expansive policy toward the Byzantine Empire, Serbian landed gentry,
unsatisfied by such events schedule, left Milutin without help when he needed
it a most. The foundation of the Banjska Bishops and its short term rise is due
to the king of Milutin, who finds the support for his unsatisfactory position
among clergies. The arrival of the bishop Danilo II at the post of Banjski
bishop, whose mission is being lasted for the period necessary for overcoming
from this unsatisfactory position, explains its sudden abolition and resolving
to the level of prioress.
