Federalism

The significant difference between a divided governmental power such as Federalism and

an actual separated power just the difference in ranks. For example, Federalism is the division of

the United States Federal Government and the State Government which both originated from the

U.S. Constitution, whereas an individual separated power (originated from the Separation of

Powers Doctrine) is simply a concept that permits the division of functions in one level of

government.

Between Check and Balances and the Separation of Powers, both have different jobs in

the role of government. In a level of government, the Separation of Powers is organized in three

brancheslegislative, judicial, and executive which divides the functions of the government.

Finally, Checks and Balances provide an overlapping in the powers, which means this allows a

degree of oversight between each branch in a level of government.
