The realization of this titling project is a technical input to know the social and
environmental analysis of sustainable urban development in the neighborhood
Colinas del Norte located in the northwest of Quito.
The urban development of the neighborhood was studied through Land
Management, a preventive instrument of socio-environmental management, in all that it plans the location and the behavior of humans activities in relation with the space and the territory along with the fundamental source of work; the field study by means of the application of surveys to the population and strategic qualified actors, counterfoil of environmental urban profile and Ian Mcharg's ecological counterfoil; the identification of qualitative and quantitative indicators of sustainable city with reference to the environmental management and qualitative indicators for the quality of public spaces.
As a result was identified the socio-environmental conflicts of the neighborhood:
the disorganization neighbourhood that generates a weakening of social fabric and a diffuse relation with the Zonal Administration La Delicia to include projects in improvement of the quality of life of its inhabitants rated as regular by the residents, followed by the lack of recreation places and regular waste management.
Finally, a proposed solution is indicated for the integral management of solid
residues applied to the recyclers or Environmental Managers of Minor (GME) with the municipal entity of the Metropolitan District of Quito and a linking Project developed in the Civil and Environmental Engineering of the Escuela Politcnica Nacional and observation as for the lack of recreation places.
