Topic: Overpopulation and all of its problems

Thesis: Overpopulation is not just a rumor and should be taken seriously because if it is not then

the world is going to be at stake.

informational website that guides readers through the causes of overpopulation. It uses headings

and subheadings to allow the reader to be informed on what it is that they are reading. This

website clearly lays out the all the causes for overpopulation and the effects it has on our Earth.

At the very bottom of this article it states some solutions for overpopulation. One solution to this

matter is making people more aware of overpopulation and its consequences if it is not taken

care of properly.

on solutions to overpopulation. It breaks it down into nine population strategies to stop short of

nine billion. Here are the nine strategies:

1. Provide contraception options to both of the sexes.

2. Provide education throughout school about this problem and maybe offer special classes

to girls.
 3. We need to get rid of gender bias completely.

4. Offer sexuality education to people once they reach a certain age.

5. Do not allow parents to receive money from the government for the amount of children

they have.

6. Add in informational classes about overpopulation through the different grades in

schools.

7. Put prices on environmental cost and impacts.

8. Try to stabilize the population we have now instead of the government creating programs

to help childbearing.

9. Inform leaders to stabilize the population and show all the consequences that will happen

if this is not done.

William wrote this article in a very specific way. He creates a vivid picture of the problems then

displays pictures to show the seriousness of this subject. In this article he mentions the future and

breaks down the science behind it. How at the rate we are going, we will end up ruining the earth

we live on. Also, William states how humans are using too much fossil fuels and not giving them

enough time to regenerate. Next, he starts to list steps to stop overpopulation. First, stop

unplanned pregnancies. Also, around the world women wed early. Their families arrange who

and when they are to marry. Girls wed men who are twice there age. Women are only used for

making children in certain areas of the world. He touches on other matters in this subject.

William also uses quotes from historical people to show how they were trying to stop
overpopulation while they were alive. All in all, the article breaks down the subject of

overpopulation to a science.

Tal, Alon. Overpopulation Is Still the Problem. The Huffington Post,

website, Alon brings up multiple different problems with overpopulation. He mentions how

China has a one child policy. How in twenty years there was over 200 million hunger-related

deaths and how one in eight people suffer from undernourishment. Most of these people live in

very populated places and if family planning would have been in effect years ago people would

not be going hungry. Also, biodiversity is another major problem with overpopulation. Places

like China, Brazil, and Mexico have had major species that have been lost. Many countries like

Bangladesh, Iran, Singapore, and Thailand have enforced the small family idea. Also, make birth

control easier to get and provide better social security. He leaves us with that in order to prevent

overpopulation we have to realize that there is a problem first.

Oh, the Humanity: Is the Threat of Overpopulation Still a Big Deal? Scientific American,

article it states how some people believe that it is climate change that is one of the causes of

overpopulation. Immigration is making overpopulation a problem. All in all, the world in 2100

will either be at the same population as it is today or it is going to be around 15 billion. In the

end, all these calculations were figured up by the United Nations.

Steve displays how the overpopulation is something people do not like to talk about. Professor

Guillebaud did a study about human reproduction 40 years ago. Professor Rapley states that an

extra 76 million people would be added to what we already have. Two thirds of people need to

be reduced. With a crowded earth human population will be 9 billion by 2050. China will have a

total population of 1.3 people and India will have 1.1. One out of three people in the world are

under the age of 20 with that in mind when they reach the age of maturity it will make the

population continue to grow rapidly. Britain's population is 60 million and looking to add on 10

million in the next sixty years due to immigration. With that in mind, it is like adding 57 extra

towns like Luton to Britain. By the time you have finished reading this 100 babies have been

born. In the end, overpopulation is a matter that needs to be taken seriously before it is too late. If

it is not taken care of right now then later it will cause major problems for the world.
