Closoly related to Table 10 (the staff questionnaire).

The respondents respond that

CALL programme benefits the student with the highest meat of 3.83. However, improvement
need to be made especially teaching methods get and the number of computers as reflected in
Table 10.Q.11 where teaching methods get the highest mean of 4.13 and the number of
computer with the mean of 3.57.
Since CALL programme has newly been introduced, it is reasonable that there are
weakness. Therefore, there is a need for holding a short training course for the staff about
CALL teaching methods. This idea is in line with the interviewees, comments for the
inprovement of both CALL programme and SAC.
In terms og the number of computers, it is unrstood that students are asking for more
because one PC is now being used by three students at thr some time. Buy by october this year
about 25 new PCS will be purchased to gradually meet the student’ needs. Furthermore, Table
11.Q.12 proves that 60 respondents (80%) respomd the facilities available at SAC has
benifited them. This result is supported by the staff (See Table 10 Q.10) with the highest mean
of 3.63. From these result a conclusion can be drawn that the resource provision at RULC
affects the students’ learning outcome which complements to the result of the students exams
whose grades ranges from A to E (See appendix 4). Of 75 students 7 got A, 29 got B, 34 got
C, 4 got D, and only failed. (E).

Weaknesses of the programme

Apart from its strengths, a number of weaknesses are still present ti the implementation
of the whole programme of the Language Centre. The weaknesses can be seen from thr design
of syllabus, teaching techniques (because not all staff are profesional in teaching the language
as they come from different disciplines other than English), lack of teamwork and collegiality
amongst team members which is vital to an educational organisation to succeed in its
programme. Good lessons can be taken from these weaknesses for improvement to be made
in the future. However, it should be borne in mind that change does not happen at once but
through stages.

Overall evalation of the whole RULC programme by students and staff

Having gethered the information it is discovered that majority of students are not
satisfied with the programme as a whole and the staff rate the quality of the whole programme
‘avarage’. The dissatisfaction on the part of the students may stem from.
