John F.

Kennedy (1962) stated that education is the bedrock of social and economic
development and wellbeing of a nation. As such the wellbeing of a nation is solely
dependent upon its national character. In turn, the national character is determined by
the institution of an education model that is society relevant at all times. In short,
education shapes a society and its standard of wellbeing.

Traversing through the academic world over the last 10 years as a lecturer and as a
student as well, has given me an in-depth insight into the substantive understanding of
the significance of education to society. Having a branded and reputable name for an
educational institution do not really portend or herald its meaningful contribution in
shaping the society. Particularly, an institution of higher learning should be able to
deliver the germane quantum of education in a systematic manner in an ever evolving
society. The meaningful contribution of an educational institution can only prevail when
its graduates, upon entering the industry make valuable contribution to the society’s
wellbeing.

WIM besides being an NGO, as an education institution, is a model by itself in pursuit of

educational excellence. In my short journey I observed that, WIM is an exemplary
institution in the way it has designed, developed, deliver and assess its MBA program
with collaboration from University of East London. Total quality management seems to
be a way of life in WIM.

Academically a rigorous program that has all the ingredients of total learning impact
where the three domains of learning, ie. the cognitive, psychomotor and the affective
domains of students are stretched to limits. In all fairness, a very systematic academic
model, fine-tuned, well administered and supported. WIM has an academic model that
can systematically transform students to become meaningful contributors to society’s
economic and social wellbeing. The hallmark of WIM is, the journey of continuous
improvement “kaizen”, a dynamic character. I am thoroughly enjoying my journey with
WIM. Kudos to WIM.
