Helpline advisor

Summer vacation placement in a marine insurance company call centre. The main responsibility
was answering the customer calls and handling their claims. Scope of work included also liaising
with experts and providing exhaustive information for clients. The job greatly improved my
communication skills, helped to learn conducting several tasks simultaneously and provided a very
good understading of the insurance business.

Part time work in term time. Learned how to organise my time efficiently and deal with people
tactfully but firmly. Demonstrated ability to work under stress and with a team.

 The History of War Society (2001-present)

Vice President of the Student Society at the University of Birmingham since 2002. Learned
how to coordinate various pieces of work thanks to managing a large research project -
Blitzkrieg War Tactis, Evidence of Yugoslavian Campaign 1941 . Published in 2003 by the
university. The project required raising significant funds for the trip to Yugoslavia, Croatia
and Slovenia.

In 2001 involved in organising a series of lecturers of the Armed Forces speakers for the
History Department of the University of Birmingham. Demonstrated very good organising
skills.

 Member of the National Rifle Association since 2001– participation in several NRA events,
including hunting in Belarus and Russia.
