Center #1: 5 Little Pumpkins Sitting on a Gate
Materials: Clothespins, Tongue depressors, Mini pumpkin
erasers
STEM Challenge: Can you build a gate for the 5 little pumpkins?
Rules: You must stand all 5 little pumpkins up on your gate
and it must be suspended in some way off the table.
Center #2: Apple Trees
Materials: assorted rectangular and square building blocks, thick
popsicle sticks, red and green pompoms
STEM Challenge: Can you build an apple tree? How many
pompom “apples” can you get on your tree?
Extra: Can you fill out the 10-frame to show how many blocks,
sticks and pompoms you used?
Center #3: Build a Skeleton
Materials: Skeleton worksheet mat, assorted teen
number cards, Q-Tips
STEM Challenge: Can you use the number of Q-Tips
shown on the number card you select to make a body
for your skeleton?
Rules: Your skeleton must have arms and legs
Center #4: Pumpkin Structures
Materials: toothpicks, pumpkin gummy candies
STEM Challenge: How high of a structure can you
build? How big of a structure?
Extra: This could be done as a table challenge by
having them work collaboratively to see which table
can build the biggest structure.
