When David awoke he found himself in the Covenant. The captain and Ebenezer
agreed that David would be sold as a slave. Then a sailor called Ransome came to
explain everything to him, they talked about their lives. Another sailor killed Ransome
because he brought him a dirty plate, for that the captain ordered David to take
Ransome’s place on the ship. One day a survivor of a ship accident called Alan was
taken aboard; Alan and David became friends

when he awoke, David was in darkness. He felt a soft movement and heard the sound
of the sea. He understood he was still on the covenant. His hands and feet were tied
and his head was aching. He was a prisoner!

One night David was lying in his bed, when he heard a door open.
Then a sailor named Riach, entered carrying Ransome on his back. The boy looked
asleep, and there was a wound to his head. hoseason and another sailor named
Shaun followed. this man was sweating and looked sickly white. He kept rubbing his
hands, and his eyes were wide with fear. “What have you done?” the captain yelled at
shaun. “Why did you hit the boy? you done?” the captain yelled at Shaun. “Why did
you hit the boy? You´ve killed him”.

Some days later, bad weather forced the ship to go back. One foggy night, near the
Scottish coast, they heard a great crashing sound. The covenant had run over a boat.

off his thick coat, David saw he wore a sword. “This man is a fighter, but speaks like a
gentleman”, he thought.

RESUMEN
