Fingerprint Prediction Enabled Passport Authentication System

Abstract

Finger print analysis is done in many ways and the project proposes a simulation less finger print
acquiring, and analysis. When finger print analysis is done there are a variety of problems that comes
such as edge detection, multiple image capture when finger is rolled, segment reduction, scaling the
image compression ratio to accommodate maximum capability for finger reading.

The project proposes a Real time algorithm wherein the persons finger prints are scanned using real
time scanning systems with ridge finding mechanisms. These mechanisms provide spectral immunity
and provide glides free images on the finger lines and firing elements on finger tips. Further dust
constituents are eliminated to the point of maximum sensibility and different point of importance
are taken.

In this world of automation, there is a continuous need for the constant evolution and up gradation
of the existing mechanisms. There is an urge for automation wherein people do less work and
machines do more. This project aims at preventing long queues and frauds in passport verification
and usage.

In any immigration counters at airports the tedious and time consuming process is the person
verification system and maintenance of so many documents and records. Sometimes they become
the reason for conflicts arising at the airports. This can be best avoided if the system consists of a
tamper proof method wherein all the records about the person are stored. The person’s Finger Print
Scanner will communicate with the PC placed at the officer’s desk and his details can be verified by
the officers. All the details regarding his photo, address and blacklist information all are displayed at
one and he need not carry any physical medium.

It prevents fraudulent entries, fraudulent passport cards and disputes at checkpoint. The whole
process is highly secure, fully automatic with less or no manual work involved.

Existing System

1. In Existing System, there is no unique authentication verification for passport.

2. Fake passports are very difficult to find.

Proposed System

1. In the proposed system finger print recognition should be done to access the passport
verification
2. The system consists of a tamper proof card wherein all the records about the person are
stored in computer
