This is the first time I learn about linguistics deeply.
Initially I don’t know what is language, after studying in deeply, I just found out that the language is a system that relates sounds (or hand and body gestures) with meaning. I am interested in the divine of language, evidently the divine of language in most religions, there appears to be a divine source who provides humans with language. The natural sound source such as onomatopoeia (words containing sounds similar with noises that they describe e.g. bang, cuckoo), then the bow-wow theory (in ancient times primitive words could have been imitation of the natural sound e.g. bow-wow), and the last the yo-he-ho theory (the sounds of the person involved in physical effort could be the source of our language). The physical adaptation source including: teeth, lips mouth larynx, pharynx, the human brain and the genetic source. In my opinion animals and human language is the most interesting discussion. I originally thought that animals like chimpanzees might be able to speak like humans if intensively trained by professional, but the reality is very difficult to do that. animal also have their own language to communicate even though very limited and very different from the human language. Why humans can speak while animals can not. It is because the properties of human language make it such a unique communication system, quite creature, then it would seem extreme unlikely that other creatures would be able to understand it. The properties of human language are displacement, arbitrariness, productivity, cultural transmission, and duality. It can’t be denied that many people are doing research and trying to teach animal especially chimpanzees to speak but none of them are successful in proving that animals can learn human language.
