TinkerCAD Quick Reference

Setting Up

1. To begin, search https://tinkercad.com

2. Scrolling down the home page, TinerCAD provides a quick “How It works” explanation
as well as a two-minute tour towards the bottom of the page (You can also find the
tutorial using https://youtu.be/MwjWT-EvKSU)

3. Making an account is free and easy- click the blue SIGN UP button in the top right corner
of the page

The following information will be requested:


Country
Birthday
Username (You decide)
Password (You decide)
Email Address

Using the Program

1. To begin, click CREATE NEW DESIGN under the Profile page and you will be brought
to a workspace similar to the one shown below.
2. To view from a different angle, click the white cube in the top left corner- you can
change the view between Top, Bottom, Front, Back, Left, and Right.

3. To edit the workplane, click Edit Grid in the bottom right corner

Under Edit Grid, you can alter the Units, Width, and Height

Snap Grid alters the scale at which you adjust the object in the workplane.

4. The four circular buttons on the left-hand side, under the perspective cube, serve different
purposes.
The Home button brings the workplane back to the Top view

The Fit All in View relocates the creation onto the workplane

Zoom In

Zoom Out

Switch to Orthographic View changes the perspective

5. To begin working, simply click on a shape you would like to worth with and place it into
the workplane.

6. The four buttons at the top left corner can be used once an object is put into the
workplane

The first button from the left (two squares) is used to Copy the selected object.
The second button (clipboard) is used to Paste the selected object.
The third button (multiple squares) is the Duplicate button.
The fourth button (trash) is used to Delete the selected object.
The fifth button (left arrow) is to Undo.
The sixth button (right arrow) is to Redo.
