Explain from sensitivity graph

The graph show the relationship of von misses stress and diameter of basket arm. From the graph
we can observe that decreasing in diameter of bracket arm causing the von misses stress keep
increasing until reach the maximum stress. The maximum von misses stress gained was 302.16Mpa
which occured when the inner diameter was 20cm and the outer diameter was 15cm. so we can
conclude the relationship was inversely proportional.

6. Conclusion

As conclusion, we have achieved a better design for arm bracket. The original factor of safety of
bracket arm is 1.2 and after go through series of optimization we gained more safer factor of safety
which is 2.0. We also have change the inner and outer diameter of the arm bracket which are 20cm
and 15cm respectively, in other to change the maximum von misses stress from 305.51Mpa from
original design to 136.5Mpa after optimization which more reliable. And for the arm bracket to
withstand higher load we have increase their thickness . For the material, we have select Aluminium
6061 alloy which is more lighter and high resistance of corrosion compare to the original material
that corrode easily.
