Ball State University Dance Marathon hosts 10th annual marathon

MUNCIE, Ind. - Ball State University Dance Marathon (BSUDM) will host their 10th

annual dance marathon to benefit Riley Hospital for Children on Feb. 25 in the Field and Sports

Arena in Ball State’s Student Recreation and Wellness center.

“We have worked extremely hard this year to make our 10th anniversary something

memorable. I cannot wait to see how all of our hard work will come together on Saturday,” says

Ball State University Dance Marathon’s President Alyssa Van Fossen.

The 2017 marathon will include many new exciting elements such as a brand new stage

which will run the width of the field and sports room, new field games on the indoor turf and

in-event activities with prizes for participants. BSUDM has also recruited a hypnotist and a

magician to perform on the new stage in between the line dance led by the moral committee.

This year BSUDM has a goal of raising $765,000, which is $115,000 higher than the goal

from 2016. Every student that registers for the marathon has to raise at least $100 to gain

entrance. This helps to ensure that all who are in attendance do their part for the kids of Riley

Hospital for Children.

“Everything we do leading up to the marathon is for the kids. The day of {the marathon}

we want to make all of our Riley Kids feel encouragement, support and love from the BSUDM

family,” says Van Fossen.
