Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Atlanta, GA April 2015 – September 2017
o Managed portfolio of multi-million dollar corporate and governmental contracts, ensuring timely and quality
delivery of project goals and objectives. Worked collaboratively to identify and use funds to support health
and wellness priorities, personally secured $7M in new funding.
o Established BGCA’s Culture of Wellness, a strategic framework that promotes the positive growth, health and
well-being of Club members. Led education and integration of strategies for improving program development
and delivery utilizing expertise in change management and continuous quality improvement.
o Led the publication of BGCA’s first Culture of Wellness white paper and BGCA’s LGBTQ initiative.

Director, Leadership and Community Engaged Learning

Community Engaged Learning
o Introduced new community engaged learning infrastructure for the Rollins School of Public Health;
independently initiated and submitted proposal that was awarded over $100,000 to establish the program.
o Worked collaboratively with the Office of University-Community Partnerships, with deans, faculty, staff,
students at RSPH and across the university to strengthen partnerships with Atlanta-based community
organizations. Coordinated advisory committees to facilitate development of best practices for university-
wide collaborative efforts with local community partners. Promoted benefits of reciprocal relationships with
internal and external stakeholders.
Global Field Experience Program
o Facilitated all aspects of promotion, education, submission, review, awards, pre-departure and field planning,
safety and reporting for approximately 90+ students to engage in global experiences each summer with
international public health organizations. Restructured and streamlined processes for proposal submission,
committee review, student advisement, and awarding funds.
o Managed nearly $1M budget for designating annual award amounts, coordinated university payment
procedures, and organized annual fundraising events.
o Created resources and advisement for official university processes, ethical consideration, community impact,
and cultural competency. Redesigned university-wide pre-departure safety and culture training in
partnership with Global Health Institute. Coordinated fall brownbag series for students to share experiences.
Student Scholarship and Leadership
o Created the flagship scholarship program for public health students to serve as leaders on and off campus
that increased enrollment by 515% over 5 years for Returned Peace Corps Volunteers. Designed extensive
leadership and professional development series for program development and change management.
o Directed Scholars in Action program that awarded more than $500,000 annual merit-based awards and
managed all processes for recruitment, nomination and awarding financial aid. Facilitated all student
assistantships and advised students on leadership opportunities to carry out personal and professional goals.
o Developed the first scholarship and service program for AmeriCorps alumni at any school of public health,
tripling the size and impact in just 3 years through student-led initiatives to cultivate a culture of service on
campus and in the local Atlanta community. Managed Gates Millennium Scholars outreach and leadership for
the pipeline of graduate education among minority students.
o Organized Peace Corps 50th anniversary event for 250 attendees of national and local stakeholders, including
government officials from the state senate and the presidentially appointed Peace Corps Director.
o Organized awareness and engagement event for 300+ local refugee-serving organizations and stakeholders
that raised $6000 in 3 weeks. Invited keynote speaker Valentino Achak Deng, “Lost Boy of Sudan” chronicled
in Dave Egger’s New York Times Bestseller, What is the What, to catalyze action and ongoing partnerships.
University Committee Leadership
o Maintained leadership roles on multiple school-wide and University committees and in local and national
professional organizations.

Associate Director, International Affairs and Special Programs

International Student Affairs
o Served as primary liaison and advisor with departments and university offices for international students and
affairs and with national and international sponsoring agencies. Negotiated international fellowship
programs internally and externally. Increased and maintained international student enrollment at the Rollins
School of Public Health by 44%. Helped to cultivate a diverse student community where both personal and
professional success can thrive.
o Managed admissions, visa processes, employment procedures and program logistics for all international
students and fellows. Educated key stakeholders to better understand important policies and procedures and
developed infrastructure for all departments to advise and manage international students’ academic plan.
Created and administered production of all publications and communications for international affairs.
Peace Corps Masters International Program
o Restructured the United States Peace Corps Masters International program at Emory University to include
ongoing student-community partnerships serving refugees. Designed curriculum to facilitate 2-hour weekly
seminar utilizing community-centered methodology including Participatory Analysis for Community Action,
Training for Transformation and additional tools and skills development for working effectively at the
community level.
Service Learning
o Created the first ever Rollins-teer Day of Service for all incoming public health students in the fall of 2007.

This event is now institutionalized for all students, staff and faculty for a sense of community on and off
campus. In 2014, during the 8th annual day of service, 529 volunteers served 30 community organizations for
an average of 3 hours and 1,587 combined hours of service. Recognized by the President’s Higher Education
Community Service Honor Roll for Emory University.
o Engaged local businesses and university partners to support service initiatives. Fundraised approximately
$10,000 each year in monetary and in-kind donations to diffuse the cost of transportation and other
resources. Mobilized returning students, current staff and faculty to provide site leadership.
Health Education
o Directed personal health course required for all undergraduate students at Emory University. Coordinated
faculty and 3 lectures each week for approximately 600 students per semester. Supervised 10 Teaching
Assistants to lead 21 discussion-based labs. Managed all recruitment, training and professional development.
o Conducted extensive quantitative and qualitative evaluations each semester to measure success and
satisfaction of the course among participating students, teaching assistants and university partners.

Consultant, Curriculum Development


HERO for Children, Inc., Atlanta, GA January 2007 – November 2008
o Designed interactive curriculum and resource guide for training youth mentors of HEROes program designed
to provide meaningful experiences for youth infected or affected by HIV/AIDS.
o Facilitated Training for new mentors and HERO for Children staff with hand-off of deliverables.

District AIDS Coordinator


United Stated Peace Corps, Charleshill, Botswana March 2004 – May 2006
o Facilitated national and international strategic plan for HIV/AIDS. Increased local capacity for district level
programs and resource allocation for Charleshill sub-district in Botswana. Monitored and documented
HIV/AIDS programming and impact.
o Formed and facilitated youth and other community groups in leadership and empowerment. Planned and
implemented community events to support education, awareness, and healthy forms of entertainment that
encouraged community participation.
o Served as a trainer, educator, mentor, motivator, change agent and source of idea generation to local
community members as well as fellow volunteers. Setswana was the primary language used during service.

Manager, Education and Technology Outreach

o Managed national networks of trainers specializing in social marketing and health communications for the
