Contents of Report
We need to follow a standard outlines to prepare a resourceful project report which will
reduce the unnecessary materials. In this regard, supervisors should carefully review these
outlines those are given in the following subsections. Moreover, the outcomes of this report
are to represent what a student observes during their corresponding period of project work.
These guidelines address the major issues related to the structure and style of write-up of
report. This report must be written in the “Times New Roman” font with 12 font size
including the line space of 1.5 lines along with Justified. The captions of figures and tables
in the report should follow the corresponding chapter number and chronological order with
dots following a colon (e.g. The third chapter first figure and table captioned as Figure 3.1:
and Table 3.1:). The reference of these figures and tables are included in the report as Fig.
3.1 and Table 3.1. The fundamental elements of project report comprise in the following:
1. Title: The words of the title should be simple and specific related to themes of the project
activities. It is better to solicit the opinion of the supervisor. Any abbreviation in this report
title should be avoided.

2. Abstract: The abstract of a report is one of the most important sections that represent the
overall work and their respective major outcomes during the work period. However, the
abstract also extracts the key points of the project report, highlighting its purpose, methods
and substantive conclusions. It doesn’t include figures, tables or citations.

The abstract page contains:

i) The word ABSTRACT in bold uppercase just before the text

ii) The text should be single paragraph in between 200-300 words, in single line spacing.
iii) Keywords should be added in the subsequent section (e.g. Keywords: Software
Engineering, Ontology, Machine Learning)

3. Introduction: This section provides the background information of corresponding project

works and briefly describes about the topic investigated. The purpose of this chapter is to
convince the readers by focusing the importance of the work they have done.

4. Aims and Objectives: The objectives should be very specific and quantifiable. This can
be included within the introduction or presented as a separate section. Objectives should not
be confused with the ultimate goal of the work.

5. Review of Literature / State of the Art: This section provides the previous activities of
corresponding problem domain techniques of an organization. Moreover, the factual and
conceptual related topics should be included in this section.

6. Methodology

7. Design and Implementation

8. Results and Comparison

7. Conclusion and Future Direction: This should refer the major themes of your industrial
placement in the corresponding organizations. In this section, you should address the major
problems and their respective solutions in your interim period as well as your future
directions for product quality improvement. This section should not be more than half (1/2)
page, even 4 to 5 lines of constructive writing will be enough.

8. References: Most reviewers check the list of references for contributed works in the
corresponding field, inclusive of their own if applicable. The references represent in an
alphabetical order by author’s surname. Works by the same authors should be listed in
chronological order.

The reference section should be formatted using the following style:

Control, CAB International, Wallingford, United Kingdom, pp. 332.
