Negosyo Center R12 conducts e-commerce seminars, assist MSMEs


to sell online

With the advent of Internet, a lot of opportunities opened up for businesses.


MSMEs can now reach more customers around the globe. So as to tap into this vast
resource, the NC R12 Business Counsellors conducted e-commerce seminars in their
respective Negosyo Centers.

These said training taught MSMEs on the importance of having an online presence
at the same time capacitated them on ecommerce or online marketing.

Participants were taught website development using Wordpress, online marketing,


Search Engine Optimization, and Google Analytics, among others.

Further, the MSMEs were guided by the BCs in launching their own website or
Facebook business pages. By having their own website or social media pages which can
be conveniently accessed online, potential customers can check out and avail of their
products and services.

The said ecommerce seminars were conducted in the following: NC-Midsayap


(May 23), and NC-Koronadal LGU (August 24).

As a result of the training and business assistance of the all the Negosyo Centers
in the region, a total of 186 MSMEs are now selling thru online platforms as of December
15, 2017, broken down as follows: General Santos City - 99, Cotabato City - 11; Sultan
Kudarat - 31, South Cotabato - 13; Sarangani - 8; and, North Cotabato - 26.

Sharing how the Negosyo Center assisted her business, JBH Food Express
Proprietress Junnairah Adrie from Cotabato City recounted how effective social media
marketing was in helping boost her sales, “After posting my chili garlic sauce product on
Facebook, I received inquiries from random people even those based in other provinces
outside Cotabato City. Through Facebook, I was able to get more customers, which
resulted to more sales.” With more sales, her production also increased from one (1)
kilogram of chili garlic sauce to an average of 32 kilograms of chili garlic sauce per month.
