LEARNING EXPERIENCES

This experiment is composed mainly of a photoresistor (LRD) and a buzzer. The group
has learned that a photoresistor or light dependent resistor is a light sensitive device that reacts as
it indicates the presence or absence or light. The photoresistor’s resistance decreases as the
intensity of light increases. A buzzer or beeper is an example of an audio signaling device. The
buzzer used in this experiment is a piezo buzzer. Despite that this buzzer is smaller compared to
other, this produces a very loud sound.

During the operation, the output of LDR is connected to pin Ao and this will be
processed by the ADC on the Arduino board to convert it to a digital signal. The buzzer will
create a sound depending on the intensity of light that the LDR receives. The lower the intensity,
the resistance will increase, the speed of buzzing becomes faster, then the higher the intensity,
the resistance will decrease, the speed of buzzing becomes slower.

After performing the experiment, the group has concluded that the Arduino is a very
useful tool for it has so many applications. On the next experiment the group hopes that another
branch and different components will be used to explore more about how the Arduino works.
