PHYSICAL EDUCATION DEFINATIONS

PHYSICAL~according to Bucher(1983) the word physical refers to the body and the
physical activities which the body is capable of doing.

EDUCATION ~Bruner(1972) defines it as a process that seeks to


transmitte,evaluate,elvaluate ,element and reach aspect of culture
-NB:Nixon and jewett (1980) says physical education is that phase of the process of
education that is concerned with trade development and utilisation of the
individuals voluntary and perposeful movement capabilities and with directly
related to mental ,emotional and social responses
-Physical education concerns of skills ,attitude,health fitness sports and
recreation .
it can be refered to as the process by which changes in the individual are brought
about through movement experiences .
-It is concerned about the physical education but also with the education of the
whole person through physical education

Bucher(1983)-he says physical education aims at development of


physical,natural,emotional and social fit citizens though medium of physical
activities
-Barrow defines physical education as education through human movements where many
of the educational objectives are acheived by means of big muscles
