Introduction
Kathehi Family at Kyamakungu today 27th January, 2018 officially welcomed their family
members from Kiraro-Kitholhu, Buhuruti, Muramba-DRC.
Welcoming
On behalf of the family, we wish to welcome our family members from Kiraro and Muramba.
We welcome out visitors, in-laws, friends, neighbors, and all other invited guests.
Appreciations
We thank all people who contributed to the success of this function; by planning, organizing, and
financing the activities of the function.
Kathehi Tsotso
Kathehi Tsotso is a son of Kabukombere, son of Wanzomba, son of Munono, son of wasalebya,
son of Bithendeya, son of Ikongo, son of Kweswa the Bakira form Isale in Democratic Republic
of Congo (DRC).
Katehhi was born in 1830 and died in 1962 after 132 years. He came to Kyamakuku in 1850
when he was 20 years of age.
He was a hunter who during his work of hunting reached Esemathambo (Kigheri) at Kanyatsi
who lead him to Kyamakungu in 1850. Kyamakungi tby then included the current Kanyenze and
Kyamakungu villages. He found no human settlement and it was difficult to stay alone in this
place. He requested his friend from Buyaghe by the names of Pusi to come and stay with him in

Kyamakyngu. Being the first person in Kyakungu, Kathehi become a village chief (Mukulhu wa
bulhambo/Mukungu) who would direct new settlers and give out land to them in his area of
operation. These also gave outland to their relatives and children. Others have sold the land but
all these people pay tribute to Kathehi Family.
Kathehi married and inherited wives; he had a total of five wives. He produced 9 male and 7
female children he took care of 1 male (Mutuka) and 1 female (Mbakania/Nyambumo).
Four of his biological male children married and made families while five did not make families.

3. Kasirika
4. Rusoke
5. Kadiho
The children whose names are bolded are not biological children of Kathehi; he only took care of
them and treated them like his children.
Conclusion
The summary of the composition of the Kathehi family at Kyamakungu has been illustrated in
this report. It has been noted that Kathehi is the Mukungu of Kyamakungu and he gave land to
different people.
