„What can survival teach us ?”

How many useful things can survival teach us? The best answer can be found with no doubt
in Bear Gryl’s programs on TV. But itsurvival doesn’t need to be so hazardous likeas in the films. Even
a school project focused on survival exercise can both teach us something and at the same time be
safe. Because what is better for learning self-reliance than being left on your own for some time.

Such a project will definitely play its role, because as I said before, it can teach us self-
sufficiency and bring new experiences into our lives. When students will be left in the middle of
nowhere, they will be required to find food and build a shelter and itthere will definitely be definitely
hard work to be done. It is a common knowledge that such actions will change thestudents’ lives for
better and will prepare them for a mature future.

Another reason for this proposal is the ability, which students will gain, to work in a team.
Everyone needs to be reliable and needs to be in a good terms with the rest of the group. As we all
know, there are things that can’t be done aloneon your own, but only with the help of others.
Teamwork is the ability that will be required from students at work, so they should learn it as soon as
possible.

I reckon that the idea of such project has only advantages rather than disadvantages and
should be enforced in our school. It will surely be good for the student’s future lives; and frankly, will
make them easier.

TIP: Also this topic lends itself to asking questions, e.g. Would it be better to find oneself in such a
real life situation, with no experience and no trust in what teamwork can achieve?

TIP: Whenever there is a proposal, such as the above, try and introduce also collateral information,
e.g. - it will not be costly for the school, students will appreciate far more the opportunities they are
offered at an extracurricular level, etc.
