Investigation of tumorigenesis and treatment response in germ cell tumors

A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of James Amatruda. MP, PhD and Adiiva
Bawodia. MP, in the Cancer Biology and Experimental Therapeutics programs at UT Southwestern
Medical Center to study tumorigenesis, cisplatin sensitivity and resistance in germ cell tumor models
and relevant therapeutic implications. Our laboratory has several exciting projects related to rationally
designed drug experiments for genetically modulated cell lines and zebrafish germ cell tumor models.
We are focused on molecular characterization of pediatric and adult germ cell tumors with biological
validation of recurrent and unique genetic changes associated with tumorigenesis and cisplatin-
resistance identified through publically available datasets and in-house computational biology
approaches. Specifically, functional changes are induced through the gene-editing technologies (ie
transgenics. CRISPR/Cas9) and assessed for phenotypic changes and drug response.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree. Experience in developmental and cancer biology-
oriented tissue culture, animal drug sensitivity experiments, genotyping, and gene-editing techniques
leading to publication in peer-reviewed journals is recommended.

Interested individuals should send a CV. statement of interests, and a list of three references to:
