New Fire Dept Hires

Begin Testing Hydrants
Recently, the Town of Ramseur filled their 2
alloted full-time firefighter positions that came with
a recent government grant. Returning Ramseur
fighter Jason Coleman, along with Ryan Husband,
are beginning their duties by performing a needed
flow test of the townʼs hydrants. You may see
them around town, letting water cycle through the
hydrants. Coleman informed me that this has a 2
fold purpose. “We get to monitor how many
gallons per minute the hydrants put out, so that
weʼll know what we are working with when it
comes time to use them in a firefighting situation.
It also is good to clear out the water lines before

REVIEW OF ‘NC STEP’ CONCERT & MEETING
(Email Excerpt From Town Admin. Kevin Franklin) PreSchool Story Time @
Ramseur’s NC STEP efforts are off to a great start, and I wanted to pass along
some information to follow up on last Saturday’s kickoff event and the meeting which

was held on Tuesday evening.

The kickoff event went very well and was attended by roughly 400. We appreciate
the efforts of those who volunteered to make this event a success. Matt Davis, an Sept 9th - “Off We Go”
employee of CauseKeepers and a member of our NC STEP team, has put together
a short video from the kickoff which I think you’ll find both interesting and
informative. Check it out (at RamseurReview.org) and feel free to share the link with
others. We’ll also be sure to provide a link from the Town’s website in the near

which was delivered to various locations around Town (in August).

Thanks to those who participated in Tuesday evening’s meeting. I was excited to
see many new faces among the nearly forty who turned out. If you didn’t have the
opportunity to join us, Chip’s article in Wednesday’s Courier-Tribune provided a
great overview of the meeting content. Sept 30th - “Colors Of Us”
Finally, Randolph Community College has extended an invitation to our NC STEP
Leadership Team to host a breakfast meeting at which Dr. Shackleford can present All Programs Held at the

positive relationship between Ramseur and RCC. I will need your feedback before I 512 Main Street, Ramseur
