Lake Balaton

Day 1 Arrival in Siófok
Individual arrival in Siófok by train. Pick-up at the train station and transfer to the hotel. Check-
in and get together dinner in the evening.

Day 2 Siófok – Balatonkeresztúr - Kéthely (70 km)

Breakfast in the hotel and bike fitting. Following the southern shore of the lake we cycle
towards Balatonkeresztúr. At lunch time we break for a tasty picnic and then continue towards
Balatonboglár and Balatonkeresztúr - passing a view point offering magnificent panoramas on
the lake. We spend the night in Kéthely where we eat dinner at the hotel.

Day 3 Kéthely – Keszthely - Badacsony (42 km)

After breakfast we follow the cycle rout to Keszthely. On the way we pass Balaton Minor (Kis-
Balaton) an area of wetland famous for its bird life. In Keszthely we pay visit to Chateau
Festetics featuring a beautiful library and impressive baroque gardens. We break for lunch,
then continue to Badacsony, a favourite amongst visitors appreciating its vineyards and great
wine. Upon arrival check in to the hotel and dinner.
Day 4 Badacsony – Szigliget - Tapolca - Badacsony (35 km)
Today we follow the old Roman route to Tapolca cycling around the picturesque Badacsony
hill. In Szigliget we visit its ancient castle ruins to take in the fantastic views on the lake and
the surrounding hills then continue to the town of Tapolca famous for its setting by the romantic
Mill Pond. After a short lunch break we head back to Badacsony where we taste some great
local wines followed by a nice dinner.

Day 5 Badacsony - Köveskál – Tihany - Balatonfüred (49 km)

In the last decades the Káli basin with its rolling hills, quiet villages, good wine and relaxing
atmosphere has attracted many artists, wine producers and holiday makers. Today we cycle
in this picturesque landscape, make a stop in the village of Köveskál before arriving in Tihany.
In Tihany we visit the thousand years old Benedictine monastery established in 1055 which is
the most recognizable landmarks of Balaton, then we continue to Balatonfüred where we eat
dinner in the hotel.
Day 6 Balatonfüred – Nagyvázsony – Dörgicse – Balatonfüred (54 km)
Today we cycle through the idyllic city centre of Balatonfüred to continue our journey exploring
the uplands of Balaton and the rolling hills of Pécsely. In Nagyvázsony we visit its 15th century
castle which earned its reputation in the times of the Ottoman occupation. On our way back,
we pass Dörgicse before arriving in our hotel where we eat dinner.

Day 7 Balatonfüred – Siófok (49 km)

During our last cycling day, we explore the bay of Fűzfő, the easternmost corner of the lake.
The area is a popular summer holiday spot with numerous resorts. We will break for lunch in
one of the lakeside villages before making our way back to our hotel for farewell dinner.

Day 8 Good bye Siófok!

After breakfast private transfer to Siófok train station.
