CET – 2018 - ADMISSION TO PROFESSIONAL COURSES IN THE STATE OF KARNATAKA FOR THE YEAR 2018-19

1. As per Rule 6 (3) & Rule 7 of Karnataka Selection of Candidates for Admission to Government seats in Professional Educational Institutions Rules
2006 (Amendments) and pursuant to the directions of the Government, Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) is inviting applications from the
eligible Karnataka Candidates including the ward/s of Jammu & Kashmiri migrants for conduct of “Common Entrance Test-2018” as per the
following time table for the purpose of determining the eligibility / merit, for admission to the First year or First semester of full time courses for
Government share of seats in Engineering, Technology, B. Pharma, 2nd year B.Pharma, Pharma-D courses and Farm Science courses detailed
below, in Government / University / Private Aided / Private Un-Aided Professional Educational Institutions in the State of Karnataka for the
academic year 2018-19 as per the seat matrix to be notified by Government.
2. The candidates who wish to seek admission to Medical or Dental or AYUSH courses must compulsorily qualify in the NEET – 2018 (National
Eligibility cum Entrance Test) exam conducted by the CBSE Board, New Delhi; and for admission to Architecture course candidate should
compulsorily qualify in NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by the Council of Architecture or JEE Paper-2 examination to get
the eligibility for admission to Medical / Dental / AYUSH / Architecture courses through KEA for Government share of seats. (As per COA
information, NATA is scheduled to be held on 29-04-2018, visit www.nata.in for more details.)
3. Eligibility: As per Rule 5 (1) of Karnataka Selection of Candidates for Admission to Government seats in Professional Educational Institutions
Rules, 2006 (Amendments) No candidate shall be eligible for admission to Government Seats unless he is a citizen of India and satisfies any one
of the eligibility conditions hosted on the KEA Website http://kea.kar.nic.in The candidates who do not satisfy any of the Clauses / Eligibility
Criteria are not eligible for admission to professional courses under Government quota seats through KEA.

5. How to Apply?
Enter all the details through ONLINE by browsing URL on website http://kea.kar.nic.in by selecting “CET-2018 UG Online Application”. After completion of
Step1:
entry of all the details candidate’s will receive an application ID and Password to their registered mobile phone number and to email address and also the
same information will be displayed on the screen.
Step 2: Upload the scanned copy of recent passport size Colour Photograph, Signature and Left Hand Thumb Impression in JPG / JPEG format separately.
Print the Challan copy which is in triplicate. In the Challan, the details of the candidate will be pre-printed, such as Name, CET Number, College / Course
Allotted details, Fee to be paid, Bank Account Number. Candidates of Karnataka origin have to pay an amount of Rs. 650/- for General and OBC (Rs.500/- for
SC / ST Category-1 of Karnataka candidates only). Rs.750/- in case of candidates residing outside the state of Karnataka and Rs.5,000/- in case of
Step 3: candidates residing outside India. The candidates have to pay the requisite fee in any of the branch of the Banks specified. The bank will retain bank copy of
the Challan with them and handover the remaining two copies of the Challan to the candidates. The candidates who are residing outside India shall pay the
fees in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, payable at Bangalore, the demand draft should
be sent to KEA address by mentioning the application number.
Take a printout of the application form on A-4 Size paper. Obtain Principal seal and signature from the college where you have studied 2nd PUC or 12th
Step 4:
Standard on the space provided in the printed form. The same copy should be produced during document verification.

Note:
(i) Candidates should note down their application ID and Password until the completion of filling up of the online application. Candidate has to enter all the
required details in the form, failing which their application will not be considered. Candidates are not allowed to edit their application after selecting declaration
/ taking the final printout. The candidate who fails to upload the Photo / Signature / LTM OR who fails to pay the fees within the prescribed date and time,
such candidate’s application form will not be considered as valid and they will not be eligible for further process.
(ii) A candidate who had obtained a seat in any discipline through KEA (CET Cell) in any of the previous years and not surrendered the seat before the last date
fixed for entry of options for final round of seat allotment for the respective disciplines will not be eligible for allotment of a seat to the same discipline during
2018. However, he / she is eligible to appear for CET-2018 for allotment of seat in any other discipline as per rule 15 (5) of Karnataka Selection of Candidates
for Admission to Government seats in Professional Educational Institutions Rules, 2006.
