This subtlely chic and elegant hutch „Window“ is a noteworthy piece of furniture.

An exclusive home interior element was inspired by the material accidentally happened to be at the
author‘s disposal. Specifically, old and wooden Kaunas City Museum windows. The peculiar part of
the window frame was used as a major constructive element of the front of the hutch.

The hutche‘s box constructed of 18mm piece of plywood covered in black matted dye. This type of
material provides its construction with strong and rigid appearance, steadiness, presents it as a solid
and sleek piece of furniture.

An irregular polygon forms the box. This type of shape was inspired by the form of the windows‘
underframe which has it‘s inner edges leaned in. Original colour of the window‘s frame remained
untouched, only thouroughly cleaned and covered with transparent varnish.

While frequent opening of heavy wood is inconvenient, six individually opening hatches divide the
massy window frame. This creative solution was considered to be the best regarding the changes in
old wood by reason of atmosphere, also because some parts of the old wood became uneven over
time.

The inner capacity of the box is divided into 10 symmetrical glass shelves (6 of which are fully sized
and 4 partly sized). Therefore, using hutche‘s shelves for tiny tea and coffee cups, plates, etc. is as
conveninet as storing taller dishes, such as jugs and vases.

Matted black was taken as a colour choice in order to let the texture of plywood appear neutral.
Hereby, the heaviness and form of the window frame beautifully reveals itself. However, colours of
the plywood are likely to be different and chosen individually.

The hutche‘s layout:

 Plywood box (18mm), dyed in black;

 6 glass hatches;
 10 symmetrical glass shelves;
 4 adjustable stems;
 Colours: mat black and original color off the old window frame – brown.

Indeed it is a sedate piece of work, however, non sophisticated. The special way of crafting by using
upcycled materials and having all things done in a private workplace grants it with a exclusiveness
and handmade qualities. When manufactured by a craftsman, it radiates with individual atmosphere
and builds a unique relation between itself and its surroundings. The sense of human handcraft is
fullfilled and actualized in pieces like this.

Užmojui sukurti tokią išskirtinę namų interjero detalę, kūrėją įkvėpė turima medžiaga. Tai atsitiktinai
pasitaikiusi proga įsigyti senus ir medinius Kauno Ryšių Istorijos Muziejaus langus. Ši charakteringa
lango rėmo dalis buvo panaudota kaip pagrindinis indaujos fasado konstruktyvinis elementas.

Indaujos karkasas pagamintas iš 18 mm storio juoda matine spalva dažytos faneros. Tokia medžiaga
kostrukcijai suteikia tvirtumo, stabilumo bei kuria aptakaus, masyvaus baldo pojūtį.

Karkaso forma – netaisyklingas daugiakampis. Tai padiktavo langų rėmo forma, kurio vidinės
briaunos yra pasvirusios. Originali lango rėmo spalva liko nepakitusi, tik kruopščiai nuvalyta ir
padengta skaidriu laku.

Patogumo dėlei sunkų lango rėmą dalija šešios atskirai besivarstančios durelės. Dažnas masyvaus
medžio durelių varstymas nebūtų praktiškas dėl sudėtingos konstrukcijos ir veikiant atmosferai
susidariusių nelygumų medienoje.

Vidaus tūris simetriškai suskirstytas į dešimt stiklinių lentynėlių, iš kurių šešios pilno ir keturios ne
pilno tūrio. Todėl indaujoje patogu laikyti ne tik mažos apimties kavos, arbatos puodelius, lėkštes,
bet ir aukštesnius stalo ar namų indus – ąsočius, vazas ir kt.

Gaminant baldą buvo nuspręsta sąmoningai neryškinti faneros tekstūros, todėl pasirinkta neutrali,
juoda spalva. Tokiu būdu akcentas nukreipiamas į daugiabriaunę seno lango formą bei masyvą.
Tačiau spalva gali būti derinama ir pagal individualius poreikius.

Baldo reziumė:

 Karkasas: 18mm storio fanera, dažyta juodai;

 6 stiklinės durelės;
 10 simetriškų stiklinių lentynėlių;
 4 reguliuojamos kojelės;
 Spalvos: juoda matinė, ruda (seno lango rėmo spalva).

Tai solidus baldas. Tačiau nėra savaime pretenzingas. Jo pagaminimo būdas, naudojant antrines
