Learning Goals for Learning Tip of the

October
 This month, we will be
finishing learning all of the
letters of the alphabet.
o Every week, we learn
two letters and practice
writing them in both
their upper and
lowercase forms.
 We will also continue to learn
counting and comparing
groups of numbers.
o Every morning during
calendar time, we count
the number of girls and
boys in the classroom
and compare them to
see which gender has
more students present.
Month
 Read as often as possible
with your child!
o Every week, your
child will bring home a
library book, as well as
a book from the
classroom. Please
either read with them,
or encourage them to
try to read the book to
you. We’ve been
practicing reading
skills in class and they
are eager to read at
home!

Upcoming Classroom Events

 Monday October 11th—Book Talks! Have your student bring in their favorite
book to share with the class.

 Wednesday October 19th—Family Trees. Please send your child with a few
pictures of family members. We will be cutting these into leaf shapes and
making family trees with them. Just in time for Fall!

 Monday October 31st – Halloween Party! We will be having a Halloween

party after the school-wide costume parade. We are looking for parent
volunteers to come in and help lead activities. We are also looking for
snack donations. If interested, please send a nut-free snack to school with
your child.

Eventos de la Próxima Clase

árboles de familia. Por favor, enviar a su hijo con un par de fotos de miembros de
la familia. Vamos cortando en forma de hoja y hacer árboles genealógicos con
ellos. ¡Justo a tiempo para el otoño!

• El lunes, 31 de Octubre:
Fiesta de Halloween! ¡Tendremos una fiesta de Halloween
despues del desfile de traje de toda la escuela. Buscando padres
voluntarios para venir y ayudar a llevar las
actividades. También estamos buscando donaciones de snack. Si está interesado, por
favor envíe una merienda libre de tuerca a la escuela con su hijo.
